The Beemster is pre-eminently a location for making trips in North Holland. On a distance of only 25 minutes traveling by car, train or bus you will find our famous capital Amsterdam with its interesting sites. E.g. there is the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam Zoo called Artis, Anne Frank House, Madame Tussauds, Amsterdam Arena (home off football-club Ajax ). But of course Amsterdam has a lot more to offer. East of the Beemster  you will find the IJsselmeer and the famous old cities such as Volendam, Edam, Marken, Hoorn and Enkhuizen. Worth visiting are the Zuiderzee Museum and the Volendam Museum. Also the North-Sea coast is quite easy to reach from the Beemster. Attractive places at the coast of North-Holland  are Egmond- and Bergen on Sea. Closer by you can enjoy the Zaanse Schans, the windmills in the Schermer and the famous old villages De Rijp and Graft.
